Bath is a firm favourite with tourists all year round but why battle with the crowds on the streets when you can make the most of the uninterrupted views from your seat in a helicopter as you enjoy an aerial tour of Bath? Your trip will depart from Bath Racecourse. As you rise rapidly to 1000ft get ready to spot famous sights and landmarks with ease. No driving round and round searching for a car parking space no trying to follow your tourist map this is a whistlestop tour of all the Bath essentials – so let’s take a look at some of the sights you could see€¦ As a World Heritage Site Bath is littered with Roman sites quaint little squares and impressive buildings spanning a range of eras. It all starts in AD60 when those clever Romans built their thermal baths and temple. Very little of what you’ll see is original but it is impressive to see those deep blue healing waters from above. Then there’s the Georgian era with all that gorgeous Bath stone being used to construct the curved rows of smart terraced villas in those ever-so-neat curved rows. Nothing beats seeing the famous Royal Crescent and the Circus from the air to get a true perspective on the sheer size and elegance of it all. Bringing the sightseeing right up to modern day you’ll be able to spot the Nicholas Grimshaw-designed Thermae Bath Spa with its glistening glass frontage. Of course one of the most-photographed spots in Bath must be Pulteney Bridge (which apparently was based on a rejected design for the Rialto Bridge in Venice) and if you can see the bridge don’t forget to check out Bath Rugby Club’s ground that’s just on the other side of the Avon river. The Bath helicopter tours are personal favourites as it offers a unique way to enjoy some of the most popular sights of this wonderful historic market town away from the crowds. If there was ever a town that merited a helicopter tour Bath is it with picture postcard views galore. Sightseeing in Bath lasts around 10-15 minutes but if you opt for the extended tour you’ll see not only Bath from the air but some of Bristol’s finest moments too.
