Thames Clippers and Emirates Air Line

Combine a ride on the Emirates cable car with all-day travel on Thames Clippers for an all-encompassing day in the capital! These packages give each passenger a Thames roamer ticket for the boats plus a round-trip on the Emirates Air Line. Your roamer tickets for the river boats are valid from 9am. After which time you have all day to travel up and down the River Thames between Battersea Power Station and Royal Arsenal Woolwich. Services stop at 17 piers including these two points so there’s plenty of opportunity to disembark and go for a spot of on-shore exploring. When you step off the pier at North Greenwich you’re in the heart of the regenerated East London. Where once merchant navy boats docked you’ve now got London City Airport the O2 Arena and the Emirates Air Line. It’s London’s first and only urban cable car. Travelling across the Thames to Royal Docks on the northern shore a 360 degree round trip takes a leisurely 20-minutes and affords you superb views of the whole area.Just like the gondola lifts you see in ski resorts each cabin holds up to 10 passengers. The initial climb out of the Greenwich Peninsula lift station is quite steep so if you’re really not keen on heights it might not be for you. At the highest point you’re about 300ft above the water which is pretty impressive. With these cable car tickets you don’t get off at the other end you simply stay on and head back to North Greenwich where you can take a look at the Emirates exhibition area (entry is included with your air line tickets). Here you’ll step into the world of commercial air travel; watching how a plane is prepared for passengers sitting in an A380 seat and seeing the inside workings of an actual full-size jet engine! After your Emirates cable car adventure hop on the next boat leaving to explore further east towards Woolwich or head back west to central London. How about a quick stop at Westminster to admire the Houses of Parliament? Or perhaps head to Battersea Power Station for a stroll around the very lovely Battersea Park complete with children’s zoo and boating lake?
